Angel Fitor - The nature of unnaturalness
A chaos of seagulls devour the discarded fish of a bottom trawler in the spanish Mediterranean.
Bottom trawling is among the less selective fisheries in the world, with more 50% of the captures being thrown back to the sea; everyday, from every boat, for decades. In many spots, seagulls have learnt the value of such waste, and their populations have experienced a significant increase entirely supported by this source of food.
This is a portrait of an unnatural nature built over the ashes of human destruction.
