Alex Mustard - Tree Of Life

Corals build an entire habitat that hundreds of thousands of species rely on, by laying down massive structures (the Great Barrier Reef is visible from the Moon). However greenhouse gases are threatening this entire ecosystem.

First global warming causes corals to bleach and then die. And second, increased atmospheric carbon dioxide means increased dissolved carbon dioxide in the seas. Carbon dioxide and water makes carbonic acid and this literally dissolves away the skeletons of both living corals and the reefs they produce.
