Jonathan Lhoir - The Devil
This is a Conehead Mantis (Empusa pennata) in the larva stage. I often see these insects when I’m walking in the garrigue. They are typical of the Mediterranean basin and come in a variety of different colours. Finding them is not so easy because they mimic the vegetation very well. I like to show this incredible mimicry in my photos.
