Heike Odermatt - After wildfire

In March 2013 a huge bushfire has raged nearby at the ‘Groote Heide’ (Netherland). Some days later I have visited this area for short and made some pictures of the destroyed heath landscape. I found these burned leaves among a few dead trees on the edge of these area. On this place the fire was very superficial and not all the leaves really burned. This gave a nice contrast between the colorful autumn leaves and the burned blue-gray leaves where I picked out a few patterns.
