Werner Bollmann - Redpoll


Only very few songbirds are able to cope with the hard winter conditions in the north. The redpolls belong to them. Often accompanied by their bigger “cousins”, the arctic redpolls, they range the woods, mainly feeding on birch seeds. Only if the climatic or the food situation force them, they fly southwards, searching for better conditions…
