Theo Bosboom - Purple loosestrife

In nature area Meinerswijk, very close to my home in Arnhem, you can find large amounts of purple loosestrife in summer. A couple of years ago after some rainy days, I discovered a nice stretch of purple loosestrife along a pool of water. I went back early the next morning and was happy that it was windstill. Laying flat on my belly in the mud, I was able to take this picture, just when the morning sun hit the flowers. The two purple flowers in the front are of the same type, but are still in the shadow and therefore seem to have a different colour.
