Zoltán Gergely Nagy - Chamois on alert

A chamois mother is attentive at a raven that has started circling above her and her young. Although the raven was not a real threat to them, maternal instincts kicked in and the mother started to whistle for danger. It was over in just a few passing moments, but for me there was some magic in this interaction.
Exploring the Ceahlau Mountains in the Eastern Carpathians looking for chamois in the winter landscape, I often felt a captivating deep silence – somewhat in harmony with the thick snow that covered everything.
