Emmanuel Boitier - A touch of light

In the low light of the early morning, I walk slowly towards the pyramidal silhouette of Stob Dearg (Buachaille Etive Mor). The cold is biting and the ice-cold snow cracks under my feet. It has been four days since I hope to see and to photograph the first light of the summit of this iconic summit of Scotland. No noise, the frozen atmosphere is quiet. Shall I be lucky this morning? The tones are subtle, no sky in fire nor strong contrast, it is all that I like and suddenly the summit gets illuminated with a soft light. It is a gift, a small, simple and beautiful moment which makes all the substance of my job as a nature photographer.
