Alex Mustard - Evolutionary Irony

Alex Mustard - Evolutionary Irony

Life on the open sand is a dangerous place, with few places to hide. A veined octopus makes its home in the protective armour of an old shell, holding the two halves together with its arms. I like the evolutionary irony of this scene, with the intelligent and high evolved mollusc (the octopus) making use of the shell of a much more primitive mollusc for its defence.
