Emmanuel Boitier - Sundew

Emmanuel Boitier - Sundew

A tiny common sundew in a bog from central France. This plant is a carnivorous one. It attracts insects with its bright red colour and its glistening drops of mucilage that cover the leaves. It is a common view to see remains of insects on the leaves (like here, on the other side of the leave): they have been dissolved by enzymes.
