Alex Mustard - Icelandic Fracture
This photo is from 2011, but I'll be in Iceland again when this goes live on NPB. This is a view through a narrow underwater canyon ripped apart by Iceland's tectonic forces.
I usually show images of these canyons with a diver in the picture to give this alien environment a sense of scale. This is one of my less well known images, free from people. The glacial spring water is wonderfully clear, but also a little chilly. At least you can drink it as you swim through it! Nes Canyon, near Husavik, north west Iceland.
