Roy Mangersnes - Jungle butterfly
I have spent some tim win Bolivia and really enjoy the diversity of this under-exposed country. I have worked at altitudes above 5000 meters in the Andean mountains, and in dense jungles. The Madidi Mosaic is one of the most bio-diverse places on our planet. I chased wild pigs, jaguars and monkeys. I saw hundreds of bird species and bugs - lots of bugs. On of my favorite species to see was the large Owl butterfly. It was like a shimmering blue silk scarf floating over the dark forest floor, crossing river beds and disappearing as quickly as it came.
