Bruno D'Amicis - Northern greetings
A familiar sound that I used to hear very often years ago, yet still buried deep in my heart, got my attention. I turned to look and saw their unmistakable silhouette. Cranes flying north right above my village! Here, in the very center of Italy, they are an unusual sight. I run inside to grab my camera and managed to take a few shots when they were already far, flying against the Apennine range.
A sign that winter is almost over? Surely, a warm message of greetings from the northern wilderness that moved me deeply.
