Bruno D'Amicis - Run for your life, beetle!

Rosalia alpina is the name scientists gave to a beetle of the family Cerambicidae. This beautiful blue and black longicorn beetle can still be found in many deciduous forests across the whole Paleartic region. Nevertheless it is a vulnerable species. Connected to old and unmanaged Beech forests, in fact, the Rosalia magically appears in the middle of the hottest summer days on dead wood stands; the matter on which the larvae develop. I hope we will be wise and lucky enough to not make this animal disappear and deprive the future generations of lucky encounters with this little forest jewel.
