Emmanuel Boitier - Of sun and ascalaphid
Ascalaphids are very photogenic animals. They are also some redoubtable predators who spend their whole days to pursue and to hunt small insects. The more the sun is shining, the more they are active. As soon as a cloud passes, they stand still in the vegetation. I took this image just after the sunrise. The day before, I had spotted numerous of these amazing insects in a providential meadow.
