Bruno D'Amicis - May

Globeflowers are extremely rare in Southern Europe. These attractive plants are related to moist and cold meadows, requirements seldom matched in the Mediterranean habitats. In Abruzzi, the Italian region, where I live, they have been found just in a very few locations. I know, or ,better, a friend of mine showed me a secret place: a narrow valley, where, in a stretch no more than 80 metres long, dozens of these flowers are packed together. It takes about 20 minutes of pilgrimage with rubber boots through a swampy field to reach this spot. We still don't know wheter it is wise to advertise it or not...
