Alex Mustard - Snapper Ball

 

A large school of humpback snapper (paddletail snapper: Lutjanus gibbus) form into a tight ball on a coral reef. The snappers form into these tight balls for protection from predators.


Location: North Ari Atoll, Maldives. Indian Ocean.
