Sepp Hackhofer - Just mud

With every rainfall a fine sand is washed out of the Dolomite-slopes and forms sediments along the shores of mountain-lakes. In November temperatures are falling and this fine mud freezes. It offers beautyful patterns and structures, sometimes perfectly geometric, like Crystals, dependent of the content of water and the sub-zero-temperature. The spectacle Ends, when first snow is covering the ground, when wintertime is coming. This usually happens very soon.

Location: Toblach, Dolomites, Italy

Great picture. I recently started with photographing, and see that I have much to learn.
