Sepp Hackhofer - Blue

While here in the Alps where I live we are having a real winter with heaps of snow and cold conditions, up in Iceland warm winds are melting away the snow within a few days or hours. Climate change is obviously taking place. On this image these particular conditions created a magic atmosphere, as on top of the ice a fine film of water mirrors the mountains on the background and due to the warm temperature a sort of haze is in the air which gives a beautiful deepness to the wide landscape. I´ve been many times to Jökulsarlon, but never experienced it like this. How long will it take to melt even the biggest glaciers away?
