Niall Benvie - Winter in northern Iceland

This winter has been pretty kind so far to the area around Lake Myvatn with access still open into the edge of the interior near Dettifoss where this image was taken.

While the sun rises late, about 1100 in mid January, the visitor may be surprised by how much light there is to work with even a couple of hours before the sun eases, reluctantly, about the skyline.
