Markus Varesvuo - On The Road In The Air, Again
Most of the Brent Geese wintering in Europe hail from the northernmost parts of the Siberian tundra, where they return every spring to breed. Their migration flyway from the Continental Europe crosses the Gulf of Finland, and for a couple of days big flocks of Brent Geese, in long wavering lines, can be seen in the sky, often in the evening and long into the night.
Their gargling chatter preceeds them, alerting a keen ear to tell the eye to look upwards and admire the age-old sight.
