Many weeks ago all the waders had left the tundra. All the plovers and whimbrels, the godwits and stints, leaving back the vast land in quietness. Many of them have already arrived at their wintering grounds, like this ruff, which maybe just in this moment enjoys the warmth of the African west coast…
