Markus Varesvuo - Sparrowhawks in Tandem Flight

Falsterbo is a narrow strip of land jutting west of the southern tip of the Swedish mainland. For migrating birds it’s a flyway linking them from their northern breeding grounds to their wintering destinations further south.

It is especially good for spotting raptors on their autumn migration.

For photographers, and anyone wishing to see these birds closer, headwind conditions are ideal, as it forces the birds to fly lower and slower, which gives human eyes, not to mention the camera, better chances at catching them.
