Theo Bosboom - Autumn hail

Autumn on Iceland is short but intense. After the first cold nights the leaves start to colour really fast and usually one or two weeks later all leaves are gone. I really enjoy visiting Iceland in this period, because it shows the island from another side and there are many places where the autumn display is beautiful. The weather can be very challenging though. While taking this picture I was in the middle of a hailstorm. It was tempting to go back to the car, but I found that the hail added a nice touch of impressionism to the autumn landscape so I kept on taking pictures.
