Heike Odermatt - Pioneer

One of the first pioneers after wildfire is the fireweed (as its name also suggests). This image I made 2 years after a big wildfire at Strabrechtse heathland in the Netherlands. The low backlight from the late evening sun let live up to the name of the plant and the incident two years earlier. It seems the fire be still there.
