Alex Mustard - Lord Of The Wreck
I was following this reef octopus (Octopus cyaneus) around his home range near this wreck. He’d just been in a fight with another individual. I am pretty sure they were both males, as that is the sort of shenanigans that males tend to get up to. Out guy here had just won the fight and was sitting proud on this bit of coral with more than an air of victory about him. He looked very much like the lord of the wreck.
This photo was taken with a new optical corrector port I have been working on developing. It corrects lenses so they work identically underwater as they do on land.
