Werner Bollmann - Winter Diet
In winter, when deep snow covers the northern landscapes, the moose mainly feed on twigs of different willow species. One of the most common willows is the tea leaf willow, which grows along the roadsides of the whole north. In regions with big moose populations one can see that nearly all twigs of this little shrub are completely browsed by the big herbivores.
