Roy Mangersnes - Long way down

 

For some of the Penguins breeding high up on the Antarctic islands, finding a rock to build their nests takes it toll. They walk a long way down to the shore, where the snow has melted away, just to pick up that one rock that will fit with the rest of the nest, and then bring it back up to their mate. Sometimes the rock is refused and they carry it all the way back down again before finding a new one. Only the best is good enough…
