Roy Mangersnes - Hummingbird at rest

The Hummingbirds are some of the most active birds, but as the sun sets they find a safe place to rest. High energy meals and high metabolism make it possible for them to flap their wings at extreme speeds, hovering in front of flowers while feeding. However at night their heart rate slows down and their body temperature drops significantly. All in the name of survival.
