Zoltán Gergely Nagy - Golden violet

An impression of a Dog’s tooth violet closing its petals for the night in the spring forests of the Gurghiu mountains. Although this picture was taken at the start of spring, until just over a month ago I could still find this plant flowering way up, at much higher elevations in the Carpathians. During these weeks (which I like the most) one can experience even all four seasons climbing a mountain from the bottom, almost as if traveling back in time.

Location: Gurghiu Mountains, Romania
