Jaak Põder - The sound of grasshopper

If you hear grasshopper/cricket ‘singing’ in early summer in Estonia it’s very likely that this song has nothing to do with insects. It belongs to grasshopper warbler who sounds just like grasshopper. That warbler is pretty secretive, mostly hiding in the grass and rarely flying, so it is hard to spot it to understand who the real singer is.

Grasshopper warbler sings maximum till the end of July (at least here), when the before-mentioned insects will take it over.
