Bruno D'Amicis - Full moon
While I was crossing a beech forest on my way back from a long day in the mountains, I heard the unmistakable call of a tawny owl nearby. I didn’t hope to see it, but a quick movement against the bright sky lit by a rising full moon drew my attention. Then, perched on the tangled branches of a large beech tree I could outline its silhouette and take out my equipment to attempt some pictures. It was very dark in my viewfinder and only by “placing” the moon behind the tree trunk I could reduce its brightness and thus have enough light in the shadows. The owl was surrounded by a beautiful rim of light so as dozens of spider webs. Needless to say, it only lasted the time for a couple of frames until the bird took off into the wild darkness.

Wow, Bruno this is amazing! Really captures the feeling of nighttime and the moon through the branches looks like an evil eye. Thank you for sharing this!
