Heike Odermatt - David and Goliath

I stayed on the Falkland Islands at the end of the mating season from the Elephant Seals. The big fights were already over and some of the bulls went back to the sea. Only a few bulls were still ashore.
It was amazing to see how these little tussock birds getting a big Elephant Seal on the move. These birds are for Elephant Seals the same as for us the mosquitoes: very annoying 😉 They love it to pick in the wounds of the bulls. For me it was a nice variety because most of the time nothing happens there and the Elephant Seals are still lying down and sleep.

Lovely image Heike; due to the giant Seal and the little birds it looks like 'everything' is out of proportion.
