Werner Bollmann - Frozen World

In wintertime the spruce trees in northern Finland look like frozen fairy-tale characters. Snow and many layers of hoar frost build up these bizarre statures. The spruce trees in the north are very well adapted to these harsh conditions: They are much slimmer than the trees in the south, so their branches don’t break under the heavy load.
