Werner Bollmann - Harsh Conditions
Winter conditions in northern Norway can be very hard. Strong winds occur all of a sudden, often followed by heavy snowfall. Situations like that offer great photographic opportunities although it’s not easy to create a proper composition when your equipment is nearly blown away. Initially I had chosen a longer exposure time, thinking that this would support the scenery. But then I recognized on the display that the drifting snow was nearly invisible. I managed to do some more images with a shorter shutter speed, but then the storm stopped as abruptly as it had started. As always: Great situations in nature don’t last too long.

Oh!! I really love this bright snow flowing over the consolidated snow. I think that this offers a brilliant feeling of this cold. I could be seeing this picture for hours and hours.

Une très belle image, on sent le vent glacial, presque comme si on y était. Bravo.
