Alex Mustard - Deep Thinker

OK, the title is a bit misleading. This spiny spider crab (Achaeus spinosus) was particularly deep in the Red Sea, nor was it cogitating on life, the universe and everything, while it perched on this soft coral bush at night to feed on morsels passing in the current. But it is a fun pose and shows that under the cover of darkness, a camouflaged creature no longer needs to live a cryptic life.

Hopefully it is another nice splash of colour as the colours fade from our world above water.
