Theo Bosboom - Back lit puffin

A lot of birds could not be recognized only by their silhouette, but with puffins this is very easy. This picture was taken at the Latrabjarg cliff in the Westfjords, Iceland. It has the reputation to be one of the best places in the world to observe and photograph puffins. It is a remote place and somehow you can feel that Greenland is less than 300 km away.

    A lovely silhouette...nicely composed.

Simple, strong, poetical and heartfelted! This are the adjective that I would use to describe this image! Great shot!

A very characteristic bird, so perfect for B&W :) eventhough we all know it's beauty in color as well, but this is more surprising ;)
