Emmanuel Boitier - Ascalaphid

I must admit that I have a true fascination for ascalaphids, these insects halfway between butterflies and dragonflies. They are confidentially connected to the sun: really fervent when this one shines, flying fastly and ceaselessly in all directions, and immovable when the sun disappears. An insect in two facets in a way.

Excellent photo! I really enjoy the mystical atmosphere that surrounds the scene. Grasses and halo of the sun give a great serenity to the image. Without doubt, an appropriate image to this strange and beautiful butterfly.
