Alex Mustard - Lone Shark

For my first image, I decided pick something from my archive (hereafter I’ll choose current photos). Anyway, this photo is one of the rare few (for me) that has both competition success (WPOTY) and has sold strongly as a print and in editorial and advertising. If only they were all like that!
It is also an image, that I have often used to represent the plight of sharks, which are fished in many 100,000s each year just for their fins. The lonely shark in this minimalist composition seems more much vulnerable than a classic shark in your face portrait. Not that I was thinking of all that when I shot this!

Very nice and strong picture! Great contrast, beautiful lines and a shark who split it up :)

What an image! Graphic and also very plastic, very "arty"! Congratulations!

Thank you for the welcome. I'll be posting recent/contemporary images from now on. Although seasons are a little different underwater.

A very good example of how less is more.
