Werner Bollmann - Arctic Starflower

Arctic starflowers are my favorites in the Nordic forests. I love the bluish white of the porcelain like blossoms. Even in the warm light of the low midnight sun, they keep their cool white color. The only thing I have to complain about is the fact that they prefer the same habitat as the mosquitoes. I was nearly eaten by them while taking this picture.

You are totally right about the mosquitos. The starflower time always coincedes with the high to time of mosquitos. Great capture though.

Dear Werner, what a fabulous juxtaposition of colors and tones. You perfectly mastered the depth of field, here. Not so easy to get different images of flowers these days: congrats!
