Werner Bollmann - Lady’s Slipper Orchid


Lady’s slipper orchids usually grow in forests on calcareous soil in middle Europe. To find them far north in the taiga is always a little bit strange – like a paradise bird in Siberia. In these northern regions it can take over ten years until the tiny seed becomes a flowering plant.

    i'd love to photograph these plants one day ... so beautiful.
    like the repitition of the flower heads ... and the clean and simple composition.
