Sven Začek - Old forest habitant


I love the forests that Ural Owls inhabit. Usually they comprise of very old spruce, pine, aspen and birch trees that offer suitable cavities for nesting. This makes good opporutnities for environmental photos. Here you see the owl preening itself on a high perch.

    Very nice! I will have to find them and go walking in them. Forests like this almost transport you out of time.

    Paul, you have to come to Estonia, there are forest like this all around. Can't guarantee the owls though :-).

    This is my kind of photo, environment at it's best with a capital 'E'.
