Dieter Damschen - Kingfisher

I was just trying to take a panorama of the wonderful foggy landscape, as suddenly the kingfisher sat down upon the sunken tree and held my attention. I cut the reflection of the sunken tree to give the motive hold, as well as I had taken the tree in the background, to give the viewer an impression of the depth of the surrounding space.

This really remainds me of a place I know not far from my house. The fog has created a colorless world and a tiny spot of color is enough to make this photo.

    Sometimes you can get lucky!

Most of all I like such environment pictures where a bird is photographed small. Specially Kingfisher on the mist-covered water.Wow!

What a fabulous shot! A small speck of bright colours against a wonderful, misty world... And a perfect reflection at that. A picture that will be remembered.

This is graffity :-P. Once you see kingfisher, its unmistakable shape gives it away. And you, Dieter, have exploited that fact to perfection.
