Luciano Gaudenzio - Mountain’s Queen (Parnassius Apollo)

Mountain’s images are those I prefer, attending, most of the year, alpine environments, especially at high altitudes, and so, I think to be a “mountain photographer”. There are myths, legends to document and photograph, to know ordinary people an animal life increasingly difficult, more and more endangered, more to be safeguarded; capercaillies and black grouses, ptarmigans and varying hares, but all these endangered species, there is a queen of the mountains, light as air, a ghost that is not easy finding, a symbol for the mountains and the Alps: is a butterfly, the Apollo of the Alps, attending almost exclusively to the mountain-tops. Every year, when the time is right, my dear friend and photographer Valter, call me that queens are back and in those great days, we are always there with them, never tired of observing and making them many images; this is one of those, in which, I tried to return the animal in its environment, the summit alpine meadow.

Hi Luciano. Congrats for this brand new project. All your shots have the great feature to be as natural as possible with no alteration of the real conditions. Naturalight is for sure the most suitable name your website deserved. In this pic the Queen is masterly composed in her environment surronded with perfect light. Ciao
